| ABSTRACT:
This course discusses the case of an 8-year-old male patient with amblyopia, and the particular issues present in treating someone of such a young age. The course discusses the important role of contact lenses in the light of this condition – specifically, the risks and benefits of unilateral versus bilateral lenses. It also reviews the various examinations necessary– in particular, topographic maps. In addition, it examines the characteristics and use of gas-permeable lenses, and explains their choice in this case. The patient’s treatment plan is presented. |
